Privacy Policy
Last Updated & Effective Date: March 16, 2026
At GetPincode (accessible via getpincode.co.in), the privacy of our visitors is of paramount importance to us. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of personal and non-personal information collected and recorded by GetPincode and how we utilize, store, and safeguard that data in full compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act, India), Google AdSense Publisher Policies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
1. Information We Collect
GetPincode is an open, free-access public utility and postal directory. You can search over 150,000+ PIN codes and post offices without creating an account or providing any personal identifying information (PII).
- Log Files: Like most standard web servers, GetPincode maintains automated log files. The information inside log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and timestamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks. These are not linked to any personally identifiable information and are strictly analyzed for server diagnostic performance, traffic aggregation, and security abuse prevention.
- Device Geolocation (Optional & On-Demand): When you explicitly click the "Detect My Pincode (Near Me)" button, our client-side JavaScript requests your device's GPS latitude and longitude via the W3C Geolocation API. This calculation occurs entirely locally within your browser and temporary session to compute distance to nearby post offices. Your physical coordinates are never permanently stored on our servers or sold to any third party.
- Contact Form Inquiries: When you voluntarily communicate with our support or editorial team via our Contact Us form, we collect your name, email address, and message content solely to investigate and resolve your feedback or data correction request.
2. Google AdSense & DoubleClick DART Cookies
GetPincode uses third-party advertising services, primarily Google AdSense, to deliver advertisements when you visit our website.
